Well, I've only gone and done it

Picking up my shiny new Griffith on Saturday from that nice man Mr Agger, and since it's the middle of winter and I haven't had a TVR before, I'm (slightly) bricking myself at my first solo trip in a Griff: deepest darkest Midlands to shiny metropolis Leeds.

If you see a bright red Griff fishtailing up the M1 at 30mph on Saturday, it's me, so please give me a wave byebye And a wide berth

I probably won't give you a wave back, but I'm not being rude; I expect I'll be trying to fix my face from the confusion of wild-eyed terror and a grin that's wider than my face, and holding on to the steering wheel for dear life.

Do I sound excited? Because I am! It's not everyday you fufill a dream, and it's damn good for the soul, everyone should try it.

Well done, have a safe trip home. Be gentle with the brakes as the 500 can be very prone to misbehave if you slam on the ankers. (from experience !!) Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy bounce

Many congrats, you will love the Griff.

Take it very easy in this weather, it takes very little provocation in the wet to get it sideways.

ps - not suggesting you dont know how to drive...after 18 months of cautious Griff driving I still have the odd brown trouser moment.

i think James Agger should buy TVR - he might move it to Nottingham but he obviously knows a thing or two about selling them !

Good work sir! Agree with the usual 'be careful' comment re. wet & cold - but it sounds like you're already on that tip. When I got my first TVR I found that a roof off drive at night in winter (clear night! haha) was one of the best things ever! Try it...

Nice work, roads a real slippery at the moment so take it easy.

Good plan to buy the entry level red model, 12-18 months time you can work up through green, yellow and ultimately the daddy of them all......the blue one.

Congratulations and all the very best of fun in your new baby.

Never driven a Grrrriff but if my limited TIV experience is anything to go by make sure you're wearing a looong, warm pair of socks for your drive !

You have just joined a group of people who experience life rather than watch it !

I agree hehe

Right, I've been keeping an eye on this 'what is the fastest colour?' malarkey for ages, and I can tell you that "dog dick red", as my fragrant, soon-to-be-ex girlfriend calls it, is allowed to be discounted from the count, at least until I've found a strong enough pair of undercrackers.

Congratulations

If you're heading into Leeds over the weekend, you might want to stop by the Manor Golf Club in Drighlington for the monthly West Yorkshire TVRCC meet

Plenty friendly faces and good food too

Should be a good turn out (maybe not in TVR's though hehe)

Hi Jon - welcome to those that do.

I know what you are going through. Picked mine up bizzarly from Leeds formy first drive to return it to the Midlands in the pouring rain on the M1 yikes

Just remember, if you undo your seat belt and then drop headfirst onto the roof panel then something has gone horribly wrong

Good luck
