Planning to buy a Griff as a one and only car. Looking at various ads etc, but unsure about it as all rounder. How feasible is it to use one all year round? Do they leak horribly? Windy? Has anyone got any advice?

we have had our Griff for nearly a year now and I can't imagine life without it. My wife uses it every day to go to work and has no probs, it doesn't leak and is as practical as a car like this can be. It's not good for in town work though...it gets a bit pissed off

Had a Chimp 4l used everyday all year including snow. Mine never leaked or let me down and the boots huge. Iwould say the Chimp is probebly slightly more practical than a Griff day to day due to bigger boot and slightly more benine handling.

Anyhow I'm now running a Tuscan day to day and thats great as well.

Agree with all said, mine's a Chimaera and I too think probably a bit more practical around town. And I firmly believe you have to use them, for one reason or another I didn't use mine all over the weekend , and what a grumpy git it was this morning!! Still got it by the scruff of the neck, showed it how to behave itself and all was well.

The Griffs great as an everyday car. There's loads of space behind the seats for luggage when the roofs filling up the boot, mine has never broken down or misbehaved, doesn't leak. Even good around town provided not stuck in traffic jams, tight parking spaces no problem even with no power steering (you soon build up the required forearm strength!). It will spoil you for any other car though.

I use my Griffith 500 as my only car and it's also left outside all year round. I've not had any leaks, although I do use Fabsil on the hood at least once a year (Fabsil is a tent waterproof solution).

Someone decided to rearrange the rear end of the car a few weeks back so it's in being fixed at the moment. Believe me, it takes one drive of the Vauxhall Astra they've given me to realise just how bloody fantastic the Griff really is...

Just make sure you do your research before commiting to one. There's ton's of useful info in the Griffith section

Thanks everyone for the information. Quite convincing! It's one of the purest shapes of all time and we'll just have to put up with the frost - as long as there's enough room in the back for a dog!

You'll need to get your dog a skateboard so you can tow it behind you as there's not enough space for one in a Griff (unless it is one of those tiny hairy rat-dogs).

Could be fun watching you negotiate roundabouts at speed...

If you get some rubber suckers you can affix the dog to the rear window..

Although, if you can keep your foot down, the suckers will become redundant.. lol
