The turbo is going into the main dealer for some fettling over christmas and they're lending me a bloody boxster 2.5 (I guess they're all out of corsas and fiestas). I didn't think these things bothered me but I'm feeling really apprehensive about driving a "poor man's porsche". Is this normal?

Its not a poor man's Porsche. Never understood why a Box with little seats where the engine was with the engine now way out back with bigger holes in it costs so much more.

Your not a snob at all..Just a To$$er!
Ive got a 997 C2S but I also enjoy a blast in my mates Boxster.
It could be said that the guy who puts his GT2/GT3/RS etc etc and ends up driving your Turbo may feel the same, but show a little more tact!

I thought all OPCs in the UK had to have Cayennes as courtesy cars? Why would they have a loan car that's minimum 7 years old?

If it's a Boxster 2.5 then that is a real testament to their durability that an OPC is using it as a loan car, as it must be nearly 8 years old by now.

Well you can look down on me, but I'd prefer if you were female, very pretty and I was lying down at the time

OP: BTW you've obviously never driven a Boxster before!

Were you talking to globulator? If so, then I'm putting my coat on and am backing out the door pretending I didn't see anything.

To the OP - Poor Man's Porsche/PMPS (or Regressive Model Range Dysplasia) is a bit like pubic lice. It's just not something you're supposed to admit you suffer in polite company. If you are so afflicetd, then sprinkle a little bit of sugar down there - it mightn't get rid of them, but it'll rot their teeth.

I still LOVE the Boxster... It's the way you can carry a much higher entry speed into the twisties that makes me smile every time....

Is that what they're calling that these days? Dude - you're just making this worse for me. I've left the appartment and am now running down the stairs. I don't need you shouting after me giving me details about higher entry speeds, let alone that you smile every time you get to the 'twisties'. I'm open minded and all, but .......sheesh. hehe

Sorry. It's late. I'm bored. And yes - the Boxster is a fantastic piece of kit.
The car, that is.
