Please help! On the weekend I'm longing to give the TVR a good blast down some winding country roads, but living in London (WC1, near the British Museum) I spend most of the time in 1st and 2nd gear. What's the quickest way out of Central London to some enjoyable roads?

I have always found that for some reason, the A3 tends to keep flowing when every other road out of the capital has ground to a halt.

Once you are out, there are some great fun roads (well, as far as the South East goes) around the Surrey Hills either side of the A25 between Guildford and Dorking. I particularly like Ranmore Common road, which parallels the A25 to the North starting from Dorking, and very rarely has any traffic on it, as most people take the A25 instead.
