Got to decide what to do with my S4, the paint work is looking tatty even though its mechanically good. Its a 1991 and has only done 30K but still I wouldnt think its worth more than 5K. Its also purple! or Amethyst to be precise inside and out, so I thought about getting a full respray and changing its colour (silver, white or black on purple could look pretty good, Guards red would be my pic but not sure it would work ok with the interior). After recommendations on here I got a quote from Specialised paintwork, who were very helpful,of roughly £6K which is probably a bit much for me considering the value of the car. Anyone know if thats high or low as a qauote and any recommendations for a cheaper alternative for a reasonable stamdard respray.

With a purple interior I'm afraid changing the paintwork to something different would make it even "less nice" (or "worse" ).

Tatty paint on only 30k ? personally I'd just get the panels painted that needed it , my mate has exactly the same combination on his '91 928 & I & many others love it

P.S. a 928 owner runs a paint shop N.W. of London ,Daytona Coachworks & reports are he does excellent work.

If you dont like the colour I'd sell the car and buy another. Money spent on a re-spray is money down the drain. Anyway, I thought retro was making a comeback

Maybe I'll keep it purple but it does need the paint work doing.
