At a guess, i reckon if you walked into an OPC with £10k in your hand, you
may get one for the end of next year, if you are lucky.....

OPC saleman: "look, here comes casey, mark those 10 grand GT3's up to 50k, he'll buy anything that one!"

End of 2007 seems to be earliest delivery, however I've seen a C16 import advertised for May delivery, any thoughts on this or the liklehood of speculators looking to unload in the new year. Thanks again
Expect a minimum of £10k over.....
and the concern over selling on an import in respect to residuals....

er....C16 is a UK car, worth exactly the same as from an OPC in the UK since it comes from an OPC in the Porsche European network. It'll be the same car just delivered to a different location. It'll have the same warranty and UK OPCs will honour the warranty in full because it's Porsche policy and EU law.
That applies to ANY C16 car not just cars like the 997 GT3RS that are new on the market.

I know what you are saying, but there still seems to be some stigma with 'imported' cars..

Well there shouldn't be, and on an RS I doubt there will be. To keep going on about the stigma merely perpetuates it. In any event - when it comes to trade-in, name your stigma. "ooohhh - pity it's a white one.." or "pity it isn't a Clubsport..." or "pity it isn't a Tiptronic" or "Ooohh - if you just had that as a C4..." or the classic "I just got offered an identical car for xxxx less than you are looking for, there are just too many of those about at the moment...".
On something like a GT3, I'd be happy get the same car here and save a few quid. You're going to lose money one way or the other - if it isn't where you got it, it's how you specced it.
