S Series Coupe

What do we reacon, could a coupe be made from an S?

I've always thought the BMW Z4 proportions were very similar to the S (bear with me on this) and i have just seen my first Z4 coupe. It looks fantastic in my opinion.

It led me to think, could the S be made into a coupe? I reacon with a roll bar fitted it would be straight forward. Maybe it could even stiffen things up a little.

Anyone proficient enough with paintshop to have a go at drawing one?

i suppose it would, but i think the sloping hatch would suit the more modern looking S.

Ive seen the hard top pictures but was wondering about a full hatch/roof conversion?

could even be made with a ferrariesque targa pannel too?

There's a couple of roof threads at the moment - it must be nearly winter!

I have often thought the the TVR removable panels were always a bit of a compromised design. Sure, you get the wind in your hair but the roof takes up all the boot space. In my view, the advantages of a (proper) hard top are better insulation, soundproofing and security. The S roof is hardly soundproof (as if you'd want it to be...), is no more secure than a ragtop and I've heard that many of them aren't even waterproof!!

Some of the modern retractable roof designs probably offer the best of both worlds (e.g Mercedes SLK) but these often look absolutely shocking (e.g. Peugeot) in my opinion.
