Replacing Heater Fan

My heater fan only works on the No.3 setting and I was going to replace (or if possible) service it. Has anyone any advice. FOr example where do I start looking for it!

I've got a 2.5 M12 GTO and it's of the road at the moment do I can take my time on the fixing.

instantly are there any noble owners (Other than the obvious) in Leicestershire / Derbyshire

I had this when I brought mine, they put a new resistor pack on it, not sure how you get to the back but I think they only charge 0.5hrs labour.

Also my girlfriend is at uni in Leicester and I sometimes drive mine up. This weekend I will be driving up but we are off for the weekend.

I'm Swadlincote, an hour (or less) as the Noble flys. That's three of us we'll have to think about arranging a get together, sometime in the spring.

The heater fan is under the front clam (Black box at the centre of the bulkhead). It's not easy to remove, 2 people are needed, first you need to remove the wiper motor (on passenger side of the heater fan box) there are allan key bolts on the outside and 3 nuts on the inside behind the fuse box cover on the top left. One person needs to unscrew the allan key bolts and the other needs to be inside the car holding the nuts (8mm spanner) otherwise they'll keep spinning and you'll be there forever.The nuts which need to be held are quite easily found on the driverside, but the ones on the passenger side are behind the fuse box cover and its quite tight behind there. Once the heater box nuts and bolts are removed from the bulkhead also remove the 2 self tapping screws at the outside on either side of the box and then either use a sharp spatula or a blade and cut the sika flex bonder and then it should just pull outwards. When re-installing the box make sure that you re-seal the heater box with some sika flex (available from car paint shop or motor factors) otherwise water will get into the heater box.

If you need any further advice on this let me know as I've done this and a whole lot of other stuff.

If it is a resitor pack this is located on the passenger side of the heater fan box, and is accessible via 4 self tapping screws holding on a small square panel. You will need to remove the wiper motor bracket to access this.
