Brought a T5 tuscan gearbox as aspare for my cerbera in the summer. However, my clutch seals went last week so I had the gearbox in the car rebulit - £1600 clutch seals and gearbox yikes

Anyway, now need to restore the bank balance so the spare T5 has to go. I've tried openning the top cover to photograph the gears for the ebay sale, However, the selector shaft prevents removal of the cover. Anyone know the correct process for removing the top cover?

Its a pain.

There is a roll pin that holds the bit on the end of the selector shaft. that needs to be drifted out so you can then slide the top cover off

Do you mean the inside the gear lever selector section?

The pin appears to have been inserted from the top. Do I punch it down and out the other side? And then pull out the selector shaft?

Whats to stop the pin failing into the tail section of the box?

Cheers

Is a T5 tuscan gearbox actually the same as a Cerbera, I thought there were different ratios espicially in 5th?

I have a manual on the gearbow, I'll have a look tonight if noone else helps in the meantime.

Yes, they are different. I didn't know about the 5th gear, but the tail section has the gear selector forward unlike the Cerbera version. One of the reasons couldn't use it.
