Bought a 2001 GTS ACR in the US, it is on it's way to the UK and I am struggling to find somebody to do the work for the SVA test. Anybody got an experiences they want to share, good or bad? Prices you paid? etc.

congrats on your car think it will be the first ACR over here, 'desmadronic' has recently put his viper through the SVA test, scroll through a couple of pages here and you'll see his post. Not to much to do for a pass. Steve K is also in Hampshire and has a friendly contact at the local SVA centre, he's having a new ram and a 01 GTS go through shortly, I could see who is doing his work for you, if you like

Main thing will be noise emissions (prob need to add temp restrictor to the air box) and they may want side repeaters. Some SVA centres are so in awe of the Viper though it seems some spec can be lenient!

Been there seen that got the T shirt.

Right,

First order a set of side repeater lamps from a Grand Cherokee these are the same as the UK/European Viper.

Either disconnect the front fogs (the wiring should be ther)if fitted and use the switch or fit a new switch to use the set of innermost brake lights as rear fogs.

Front headlamps need to be realigned.

Sidelights need to be moved from the yellow out side to a hole just left above the dipped headlamp, we used Cavalier sidelight holders.

Noise was no problem with a standard exhaust, they do not check noise for the MOT just the SVA so if you need to borrow a standard exhaust then let me know.

If your car is Yellow.....watch out.......I may kill you and nick the car!

I've also been there and got the tee shirt!! As Viper Paul says not much to do. You will need side repeators,I used Chrysler Voyagers which are exactly the same as the Jeep but half the price. you can take a wire from the plug for the current indicator.Be sure that the wiring is securely clipped to the bonnet ( hood) as the SVA make a point of checking.I can sent you a picture of it if you like.
My car is European spec so rear fogs were already fitted, but as Paul says very easy to do.
I have an RT10 with side exhausts and noise and emissions were no problem.
Headlight adjustment is easy. Take off the inner fenders(6 plastic turnbuckles) remove rear of headlight, unlock headlight with an Allen key and adjust as required. Sidelights can be fitted at the same time. I used Citroen XM holders. If you are near Twickenham and want anything checked or done ,let me know as i own an MOT garage there.
If you need any more info let me know.Regards

Big thank you to Desmadronic.

Do they do T shirts in our size?
