So....
i was thinking of selling the 3r march/april next year and giving the high performance thing a rest for a bit (getting too much grief from the missus for having 3 cars and 1 of them being a 2 seater when we are now 3!)
Then along come Subaru and release the new RB320.
Now i'm thinking of selling the noble and my everyday car and getting the rb320 to do both jobs. Never had an imprezza but always liked them, any comments experience on imprezzas? i like the 320 bhp bit!

You will find plenty of Evo owners that previosuly owned Scoobies but not the other way round - speaks volumes. I've got a 6 RS Sprint - one of only 12 made and 6 remaining and previously owned a 6 GSR and an Impreza - I've also rallied an Evo 5RS and taught at a rally school with an Impreza.
Evos are noticably superior and even the latest Scoobies handling feels dead by comparison. There's a lot of rubbish spoken about Evos i.e. driving themselves and awful service intervals - in truth they don't. AYC bleed needs doing fairly regularly but is less than £50 from most local dealers. Evos are one of those cars that are better serviced by the specialists rather than dealers - In fact its seen as a very good thing from a second hand point of view.
Get an Scooby fine - but remember to move over for Evos
Amen to the reference to Richard Burns - and spare a thought for Michael 'Beef' Park as its the Net Q Rally GB at the mo and he sadly passed away on last years event

Having come from an Evo VIII MR, I cannot fault them one bit. They are phenomenal cars and in the 2 years I had mine, nothing ever went wrong. I had the usual mods eventually and ECU remap and managed to get a 400bhp/380lb ft car for £2k and also spent a bit on brakes and suspension.
The confidence they inspire is unsurpassed. If I'm honest, I do miss it hugely in the rainy weather/wet roads. It also really came into its own in bumpy terrain. The Noble just wouldn't touch it in those conditions or in the wet. Also very practical day to day and very large boot.
Servicing is every 4.5k miles which is a bit OTT but they are fixed service costs and VERY cheap compared to any Noble service.
Never driven a subaru, but people say they are even better in terms of comfort than EVos with marginally better interiors. Servicing is less too. I do agree however, there are lots and lots of ex-scooby owners on the mitsubishi lancer register, but very few have done the opposite swap.
I'm thinking of an audi RS4 next (B7), 4WD, NA 4.2l V8. Take a test drive if you haven't...it could be a great replacement for you...perfect blend of luxury/safety/performance and practicality. Thoroughly impressed with this and the build quality is second to none I've seen.

I once drove a Imprezza on one of the all day experiences at Rockingham and it was very easy to drive quickly (I won) but prone to understeer. The only problem is they are just absolutely everywhere. I went to halfway to see the rally at the weekend and every third car must have been an Imprezza. On the otherhand I left the noble in the garage and grabbed a lift not wanting to take it and park in in a muddy field, so maybe they have the right idea.
