Had a noble m12 3.0L in today and it stalls every couple of junctions by itself....maybe 1 in 4 junctions...just pull up in neutral waiting to go and dead instantly cuts out no running out of fuel more like an ignition cut out...the you start it up and instantly fires up?

can idle for 30 mins outside and perfect....go down the road and couple of junctions dead....

Any ideas ? im a porsche specialist and have just rebuilt the engine bottom end knocking and now this...

Thanks

Does it happen with the air con off? On some cars aircon and full lock together provided enough load to stall the engine, failing that an air leak?

Had something similar with new M400. Engine was fine idling at standstill, but just died usually approaching r/bout (ie boot off gas). If I remember correctly it was faulty throttle idle/sensor or somesuch thing. Didn't make much sense to me as the engine idled perfectly. Nevertheless it was replaced (warranty) and problem solved.

Are you talking about the aftermarket BoV? If so, there will be only one (Highlander) and it'll be located around 1/2 or 2/3 along the Black rubber pipe to the intercooler (dunno its name!) on the top LD side of the engine. Someone may be along here soon with a photo.

Unless there is a dump valve (aftermarket fitted) in the main tube that goes into the throttle body there aren't any. The noise you can here is the turbos venting back through the air intakes.

Anything later than rev "B" ecu's are locked and to talk to them you need to be in the club, i think you'll find your's is a "D" you will need to talk to a dealer or Roush.

Hi Mike - I own a July 2005 M400, and had excatly the same problem as you, and resolved it myself, by ensuring that I never had / have the aircon turned on from cold start, because each and every time I did - she would stall as soon as I approached any obstacle that involved me lifting off the gas! Hope that helps.

My map raises the idle from cold to around 1200rpm to stop that.

They just shouldn't do this, cold or hot. If you are anywhere near Roush you might want to give it to them to solve - they have found a few very strange funnies with mine.

Guys / Gals......further to this topic - I can advise that having deposited my M400 in at Peter Smith Sportcars last Wednesday - and then had to leave it with them (I live in Aberdeen see and they couldn't fix my central locking problem there and then) - that I also requested that they attend to the 'stalling on an annoyingly regular basis' issue at the same time, especially as they now have possession of my motor until the first week of January!

They have advised me that ALL Noble dealers had the diagnostic equipment removed from them at Noble's request, this due to 'abuse of the facility' (folks ekeing out as much power as they could presumably tut tut) and they are therefore loading my M400 to their transporter tomorrow and taking her over to the factory to get 'looked at'......they have however driven her at length this past few days and have not experienced any problems with her, which is strange given that the 3 days I used her last week, over a distance of about 500 miles, she consistently caused me problems, even when nicely warmed through, and with aircon turned firmly off.

So...I'll update you in due course as to what they find, but have meantime just faxed them the very useful resume 'No More Engine Stalling - Secrets Revealed' proffered up by Craig, although whether they will even bother to read it is another matter.

Don't believe everything you are told, you realy should talk to Roush before you spend any money, sounds like your being told a story.

Adrian - you haven't got the contact details for Roush have you? Apologies for having to ask, I'm not long on the PH Noble forum as you can see, so what might have been discussed long, long ago by you all, I'm now having to pick up and act upon some months beyond I'm afraid, although I can now see the huge benefits of not simply listening and then heeding the advice from a your typical Noble dealer!
