I need to get the wheels refurbed on my MK1 GT3.

I'd like to do the spokes black (red GT3) and the car is mainly used on track.

Anyone have any experience of wheel refurb for these type of wheels and cost?

Midlands based would be great....

Lepsons and Diamond Styling are all good but a bit further south.

Lepsons charged £100 per corner for a colour coded split rim refurb (strip, bead blast, paint, bake)

I had my BMW M Coupe wheels done at Lepsons and they were spot on. Sent them by courier no problems.

I had some wheels done at Diamond Styling recently ......... nice guys but the quality is definitely not what it was when Chris did the wheels. Anything simple is ok - Mags, split rims etc I wouldn't go there.

Regards

If DS are really that bad now, try Jasmine, not cheap ('cos he just subcontracts them out and sticks his percentage on top)
He got my 993 RS Speedlines done (I had to get the "Speedline for Porsche" stickers made up and acid etched on myself though) the end result was indistinguisable from new.

What about these guys: www.lap-tab.co.uk/alloywheels.php

They have a pretty good reputation.

Thanks - they are not too far away and I can leave the car with them - I've sent them a quotation request.

I used bjv engineering (brian Vallack)..in Kings langley. www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk/index.htm

Left the wheels with them for a week, they took them apart anodised, polished, powder coat sprayed centres black and refitted to correct torque settings (hopefully) all for £250

Have done several track days since, and the paint still looks perfect.

I wouldn't bother with them mate, their customer attitude stinks! And their work ain't too hot either esp. regarding lacquer!

I personally would prefer a smaller outfit more keen to do a good job rather than roll it in through sheer numbers...

No problem mate, after that i took them to: Shotblasting M.F.S. Metal polishers and wheel refurbs, 20 moles st, B11 1XA. 0121 753-1251

The guy was nice, he changed the centre wheel colour for me and although it wasn't a matching colour (i supplied the paint so my fault) it was a pretty good job.

When I went to see him he was doing Rolls Royce wheels, says he's a long-standing contractor or something...so maybe worth a chat at least?
