We must keep the LT2006 spirit alive. idea What about a fighting fund to run an ad campaign to highlight the workers demise. Any other ideas?

Probably. Carlsberg Export and clear thought processes are not happy bedfellows. My profuse apologies for a very poor command of English, I was pretending to be an East European immigrant

Just out of interest, what is the ultimate goal of this campaign (I'm not having a go, I'm genuinely interested)?

It seems to me that in order to keep TVR in Britain, given the low number of new sales, they'd have to scale back operations massively (reducing the wage bill, land costs and other overheads so as to remain viable). So much so that it makes me wonder whether outsourcing and it's 'pay as you go' nature is the only way forward? If it is, are there any independent fibreglass coachbuilders in England able to cope with (hopefully) spikes in demand?

Rather than paying for an ad campaign that will achieve nowt, you'd be better spending the money on a new TVR. It's sales that will save the company, not bleeding hearts.

So has a decision been made yet on what to do with the surplus money donated for LT? I believe it is to be spent for the benefit of the workforce, but do we know the details yet?

To keep this thread near the top, any other ideas for keeping the momentum going, although after the success of LT it's difficult to know what we can do to help the workforce?

How about trying to convince some altruistic public figures with cash and a sense of British/English pride to buy the company - or remains of the company?

OK, may be a cr@p idea but I'm trying to keep the thread alive...

How about Macca? Prepared to cough up £80 million for a couple of years marriage down the pan (aren't I restrained - no jokes).

Or Richard Branson? Was looking at buying a Concord.

If I had anyones ear I'd be suggesting it...

I was reading about Burberry this morning (no chav jokes please) who seem to be in a very similar situation.
Factory in S. Wales, 300 workers, all work being moved overseas, 300 job losses.
In this case the Welsh Secretary has written to the Company asking them to reconsider etc.

I wrote to Branson once and asked him to help with a Keep Blackpool Tidy thing we were doing at school - I couldn't believe it when he actually showed up on Blackpool prom wearing an old fashion bathing suit! I was only 11 angel

Yes if only. The petition that we all worked so hard and delivered to No 10 was probably used to light the fire with the next day at No 10.What is needed is a very rich person/company to buy it back and start all over again here in the UK.The Government could not give a toss what happens to TVR,and all the other 1000s of companys that have gone under or departed these shores They would sooner fight wars and spend billions on bullets and bombs than look after our own,Its always been that way.
