how do you set up coil-overs??
Discussion
You really need them corner weighted, otherwise you're not going to get the most from them. Basic rule is that you screw up the spring seat diagonally opposite the corner that you want to transfer the weight onto. Obviously, the idea is to get as close as possible to equal weight on each pair of wheels, front and rear.
If you just want to do a rough set up, you can just set the ride heights to be equal for the front pair of wheels and rear pair of wheels.
Either way, once you have finished setting the corner weights/ride height, you will need to do a full geometry set-up on the car, as the change in static ride height will have changed the static camber settings etc.
To do the job properly takes either some very fancy equipment (corner weight pads, for a start!) or a lot of time, patience and knowledge (along with some bits of string and a tape measure
), so to be honest I'd get a specialist with the right equipment to do it for you.
