Looking to buy a newish car after my TVR Cerbera caught fire a couple of weeks back.

Can someone please tell me whether the name of the model indicates how many seats (I need a 4 seat Porsche).

Boxter is out straight away, but would be interested in a 911.

Carrera 2 is 2 wheel drive?
Carrera 4 is 4 wheel drive?
Coupe means 4 seats?

Excuse my ignorance, whilst I enjoy(ed) TVR ownership, it got a little too exciting for the girlfriend.

okay.. all modern 911's are 2+2's unless they are a 'GT' (GT2, GT3 etc)

The carrera is the entry level 2WD, the carrera 4 is the 4WD...

Thanks guys - I have a problem in that I love the performance of the Cerb, but the girlfriend is under the impression that they spontaneously combust.

So buy a 996 Turbo. 4WD. 2+2. 420 - 450 bhp.

Performance very Cerb-like.

I've just gone from a 4.5 LW Cerbera to a 996 Turbo. No regrets so far. Straight line performance of the Turbo versus the Cerbera feels similar, but the Turbo is WAY more capable on the twisties. The steering, ride and handling are far superior and thus I believe it is faster in, faster through, and faster out of the corners.

I am NOT one of those TVRs are crap - buy a Porsche types. This is my first Porsche after 10 years of TVR ownership, and I am happy.

Didn't take her long to figure that out, then?

At a risk of unintentional offence, something about the clandestine tone of this made me LMFAO...

Sorry (reaching for coat).
