What breather ?

I have decided that I dont want to poke a hole in my nice new airfilter and would rather fit a breather filter, but although I have searched and found some suggestions to do this, I dont see a definitive answer on the question of does the breather need to be in the filter to have the airflow suck muck out of the crankcase... ? supposing your gonna tell me to just fit the breather, what size is it ? I have seen them listed as 12 - 18mm typically ? is that the diameter of the rubber hose it fits into or do you dispense with the hose altogether and fit it direct to the oil filler cap ? so its the diameter of the outlet from the cap...:wink:

Fit it straight to the Oil Filler cap and sling the hose. Therefore it's the diameter of the the nozzle on the filler cap. Most motor factors do em, abot £12 when I did mine last year.
