My joy as a new Noble owner demolished in just 11 days

Imagine you pick up your M12 GTO 3 having deliberated whether or not to buy a Cerbera for the last two and a half years but never did, drive it home with nothing but admiring looks from just about every passer-by, put your foot down now and again regaining your confidence in a rear wheel monster, that sounds so fantastic for a 2.6 V6 you cannot believe................and then.......................11 days later taking a bend you've done many times before but decide as the road is clear you'll take your exit a little wider and before you know it you've hit leaves or frosty white line smacked into a curb, jumped it and been beached on the grass verge. Fortunately you weren't going fast enough to total it but it's now off the road for at least two weeks being repaired. And on that note thanks to Tesco for letting me use my own repairer with no hassles. So obviuoslyhere's hoping that Stewart and Gary at Crazy Horses Racing can have it back to me before Xmas. I hope this isn't a new record for for this kind of thing............. Had to share my grief with somebody, Cheers.

I have just been for the first blast in 3 weeks and very nearly did the same.


Got the wheels re-furbed and have new tyres fitted all round this afternoon. (P Zero Rosso N4's)

Went for a "scrub them in " drive and it was all over the place! Nearly binned it about 5 times before deciding to nip into a garage and check the pressures.

To my amazement, they were 36 psi all round!


Its all back to normal now!

Sorry not a record, the blokes who nicked some cars from the Noble factory binned it in less than a mile.................but they didn't have to pay for the damage.

Sorry to hear that mate. But like what has already been said at least you are OK.

I have a friend who was knocked into a coma in a fairly low speed accident and has never really recovered. At least the car can been repaired and by the sounds of it, it's in good hands!!

Not a record I'm afraid.

Chap bought a car from Williams in Bristol and wrote it off within 1/2 hour.

Got chopped off on a roundabout and ended up wrapping it round a concrete post.

I was the wreck in the garage the day after. It was heartbreaking.

I'm sure Gary will get it all sorted in his usual efficient way.

Sorry to hear that. Important thing is that you are OK, that's what insurance is, and you've almost certainly learnt that familiarity is something to be wary of.

I still drive it like a girl when cold or wet after my write-off.
It's getting to that time of year when caution may be wise...
Glad you're OK.

P.S. I didn't hit my head on the roll cage. I was really worried about that when I first got the car - maybe I got lucky.

Thanks for all comments so far and I'm sure as others who have pranged in the past will insist, you learn a hell of a lot about the car and your own driving ability/invincibility in one foul swoop. This is the first major prang I've ever had, not bad at 41. Luckily being a short arse my head comes no where near the roll cage. And yes I had the seat moved forward 2.5 inches 'cause I couldn't quite do the clutch with shifting forward in the seat. As most have commented the best thing is that I'm still here completely damage free.

Simon, very glad to here you got away without serious injury.

But at the risk of banging on about this, as I've mentioned it before, you can save yourself and your passenger from a serious head injury with a couple of tie wraps and some a few quids worth of roll cage padding. It possibly the easiest and cheapest safety improvement you can make.

Greg, who did you use to do the re-furb? And did they manage to put the plastic rivet things back on again?

Simon, sorry to hear about that. It's a tricky time of year to get used to a new car; a neighbour binned his 911 shortly after getting it by losing control on a corner covered by wet leaves.

James, lets talk tomorrow or Sunday when you'll be able to see them. I'm a bit of a guniea pig for a new method of UV setting and the chap doesn't want any publicity just yet incase it all falls off! I didn't pay a penny for it btw and they look 1 million times better than before.
