Cambelt Service 348
Discussion
Does anybody know of a reasonable priced and good place to get the above job done including all cam seals and rocker cover/end plate gaskets.
Also would like to get some bodywork done due to some rust.
I have been told the job will be about 25 hours labour at £65per hour at a main delear in London for the belts etc.
I live in Rubgy, but will take the car pretty much anywhere.

Not 100% sure but I think Verdi's will do the cambelt service on a 355 for around £700-£800. Pretty sure the 348 will be cheaper. If you want to get the best price, you can get Scuderia Systems to shop around for you. www.scuderiasystems.com
Cambelts and an annual service can be done at those low prices, but to replace cam seals etc is a considerable amount of extra labour.
The 348 with hydraulic tappets rarely has the covers off unless you're fixing leaks etc.
If your car still has cam seal leaks, make sure it has had the recall done to drill larger drain back galleries behind the seal. It takes a while to perform, but it was a factory recall back in the early 90's. Some may have slipped through though. There was also an upgrade to the bearing on the cambelt drive pulley...(only one belt on 348's)...and they give trouble. Another fairly big job while engine out.
Check out any of the Kent based specialists too.
