Does anyone know the Canon range well?

Pocket camera question here.

I have an S70. It's great.

My mate has an S80. It's much better.

I want to upgrade however the S80 seems to be end of life (just) and is being replaced, only I can't find out what it's being replaced with.

All of their range seems to be called "PowerShot" and I can't figure out between the "S" (which I like and want the latest of), "G", which seems to be big, but they call it compact, "AD" (pocket), "A" what's this?, "IXUS" Eh??

I've had a look at their website and it doesn't clarify much.

They have an "S", but it looks completely different from the S80 / S70 / S60 / ... link

Should I wait until they produce an S90 or is there an S80 improvement out (or coming) that's under a different name?

Search for a good deal on the S80, if it's at the end of its line they should be readily available.

They're still popular enough to not be far off the RRP

ive just bought myself an S80 as i also have the ixus 700, the 700 isnt manual enough for me now.
The S80 is just brilliant, no RAW now though over the S70 if that is a factor..........

Look on ebay the S80 is available new still

Well it was £289 on there and I note that the S70 sells for £199(ish), so I'll sort of do a swap until the S90 comes out (if ever)!

I have an array of cameras that I really should put on there. It's just a swap shop really!
