Steamy Gauges on an S3

I managed a run out this weekend between all of the jobs I had to do on my S3 and noticed the Fuel, coolant and oil pressure gauges steamed up after a short time, they are clear again this morning so its obviously an on-the-move problem and not storage condensation. duct on drivers side from front of car had been disconnected by previous owner and I had re-connected it earlier in the day, despite controls being moved to "Cabin" and hot, there was not much air coming through even with the fan on full (so it was bl00dy cold with the roof off!!) so I suspect the ducts are not connected behind the dash or there is a coolant leak somewhere in there... anybody got any advice - I dont want to remove the dash, but its looking that way

Leave some silica gel bags in the car, as it helps remove moisture from the air...
I left a room dehumidifier in the car for 2 days - the next time I used the car the gauges steamed up - it's not humidity in the car, it's humidity inside the gauge, and the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the gauge.

I removed the radio and taped a bag in there, and left one in the glovebox... didn't solve the problem, but reduced the steaming a bit...
Gauges misting up in the winter? Are you sure? Must be a duff one. Oh, sorry I am posting on the TVR pages. In that case You're stuffed I have never seen one that didnt do that and I seen 3. Ok so its not that many but just out of interest lets have a show of hands who's gauges mist up here? (hand in air).
My gauges also steam up.
I also have some calcium chloride in a container that I keep in the cut out between the seats. This takes care of all the condensation that used to coat the back screen. Once this has collected a load of water I just replace with fresh calcium chloride
