It’s started already. People are asking me what I want for Christmas. I can never think of anything.

Anybody got any suggestions for photographic accessories that they’ve found really useful? I have the basics; camera, lenses and tripod, but what about that little extra that makes life easier or once you have it, or you can’t think how you managed without it. I’m looking for suggestions up to around £50 here, not a 300mm F2.8 L telephoto (that if any of my friends or relations are reading this, I would really like)!

Any thoughts?

Those two, along with my lens pen are my favourite recent buys. All fairly cheap and very useful in their own way

Spudz lens cleaning cloths, cunning design for the bag stops them gathering grit in the bottom of your camera bag and really very reasonably priced too

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I also read somewhere about replacement straps, but can't remember the make. Has anyone changed theirs. The standard issue with my 350D doesn't have a lot of shoulder grip when carrying the camera.

If you are looking for a decent strap try Optech Pro, they are pretty good.

Thirded. I've had them for years and they're still good.

Giotto Hurricane blower brush (£10.99)

Lastolite Gold/White reflector

Basic Photography, Michael Langford (£25 ish)

Second hand Weston Master light meter (haven't got one, but you may get one second hand for £50). Gossen Lunasix light meter was one of first items I ever bought and still have it after 19 years
