if you mean Forest, then agreed, enjoyed watching em in Europe when growing up & thought Cloughy was a footy genius, plus usually good games with the Hammers as like us, Forest
try to play good attacking footy.
They belong in the Prem, good history, good following & decent ground.
Hope you didnt mean another team after all this ??

What rubbish. They belong in L1 because they weren't good enough for the Prem and fell out the bottom then weren't good enough for the Championship and fell out the bottom of that.
Perhaps I can persuade the local council to build my team a big ground, invite loads of people round and then say Exeter City deserve to be in the Prem too. We've got history too, including being Brazil's (yes, the country) first ever opponents amongst other things.

No they haven't. How is that relevent to whether you should be in the Premiership or not? I thought you qualified for that by gaining promotion from the Championship, not what you did 20-odd years ago in the only (short) period of success you ever had.

History isn't a guarantee for future status. You have to earn that and keep earning it. What use is league division 1 to you?
Yeah, NFFC are a club with a big history but league tables don't lie. They are where they are now on merit. They will be in the premiership only if they earn the right. As it is, they are in the same division as the likes of Crewe Alex and as such, the current team deserves a similar amount of respect.
Its up to the team and management to get them back where you think they belong and until then I don't think you can be classed as a current big club.
Even though they aren't my team, I've got fond memories of watching Forest winning in Europe, Trevor Francis goal etched in my mind.
I hope for you that one day they'll be back in the top flight because the name is one that has been missing for too long.

No they haven't. How is that relevant to whether you should be in the Premiership or not? I thought you qualified for that by gaining promotion from the Championship, not what you did 20-odd years ago in the only (short) period of success you ever had.
The original post was not that they should be in the premiership but a hope that they may return one day to their former glory with premiership status.
Forest's history throughout (if you look back in detail)has been up and down (Sort of cycles of genius) so you can't but wish them every success in promotion.
Forests academy for the younger players has always been consistent and some of the countries major players came through its ranks only to find a better deal from the richer bigger clubs.
I truly believe forest are on their way back...but I have said that before!

boobles, I go the occasional Forest game when not going to the Hammers, also play 5 a side with loads of reds fans including one of the Directors
I'm going to Forest on 16th of Dec as they are playing my "other" team Leyton Orient
My BIL is coming up as he is O's s/t holder. He's really looking forward to going to the City ground, but very worried about the result, thinks it could be a cricket a score!
Think the O's will be bring a good few fans, went to Lincoln city with BIL last season, & they had over 1k there

Not saying they have the "right" to be there by any means, agreed you earn that & any team that gets there on merit deserves to be there.
However based on the contribution they have made to UK footy(i.e. home grown talent) & their track record of fans that create a good atmosphere, and a team that try's to entertain the fans plus a decent stadium I would much prefer them back in the prem rather than some of the current teams, if you've been Bolton you will now what I mean

They are having a good season no doubt, but having watched several Forest games in the past 3 years or so since I moved here, I don't believe they will be in the Premiership for a long while yet!
I watched plenty of matches last season when the defence looked like they needed white sticks and guide dogs! They are having a good season though and I'd like to see them get promoted even if it is only for the chance to see them play better opposition next season

theyve always been a footballing side so deserve to be in the top flight.
<sigh> The only time they'll deserve to be there is after two promotions...
And aren't all football teams, by default, 'footballing sides'? I mean, as opposed to what, cricketing sides, snookering sides, swimming sides?
