I have noticed a few disgruntled posts on here recently which is very unusual, is there a problem with finances or anything at the factory? Believe me I am not scarmongering after what has happened at TVR the last thing we need is Noble going under.

Do the factory not have anyone posting anymore or do any of the customers such as Joust know anything?

No, Micknall who was really great at giving advice and information has left Noble....

Looks like they were close to the wire a few months back in terms of finances. Hopefully the new investor will put things back on track.

Things are fine, but the new invester isn't prepared to say anything about the final M15 until it's finished, hence the 'radio silence'.

All companies, regardless of industry, are the same. It's far better to keep a product quiet until it's launched, creates better PR (e.g. Sky Broadband....)

The M15 has hardly been kept quiet though? Likewise the M14 before that, and the GTC.

I thought a good marketing strategy was to let info out slowly, therefore creating demand and keeping the product at premium. Dunno if annoying the existing and prospective customer base is going to do this very successfully.

Hi Joust - like you like your posts.

BUT the factory shouldn't put you in the invidious position of unpaid spokesman/defender of the faith. They have a network of dealers and a marketing person - these are the people who should be saying "We're sorry about the silence - you should expect some news on the final much improved specification by ....whatever date AND thank you for your patience."

The car tells me everything that's happening as it happens maybe the company should seek to mimic it>

I just say it as it is. I'm not in my position but by my own. I do NOT speak for the factory despite what some may think. My views are only based on 'been there got the t-shirt'

Why don't you just contact the factory direct yourselves rather than just complain about lack of input from Noble on a public forum.

Justin, so are you stating a fact know to yourself then?

Also, why would an investor say anything - isn't that the role of sales and marketing?

I am intrigued as to how many "launches" this car needs before production. First the M14 was "launched" and we entusiasts duly paid their deposits. Then not a lot happened for 18 months but at least we were kept informed. Then the M15 was launched and we were told various dates for production. So we moved our deposits to the new car. Now absolutely nothing. Not even letters to the frustrated deposit holders. At present the silence, rather than being smart marketing, is encouraging speculation regarding the future of the company and the M15. Doesn't strike me that they care anymore about loyal customers.

putting the car on top gear was a mistake in my opinion - its just raised expectations

it was probably a publicity stunt to get a new financial backer

how many M15's are there ? just the one by the sounds of it

Lets face it since Simon left the "support" from the factory for general user "stuff" sucks (at least via this substantial Noble community).

M15 -- quiet -- thats one really hushed up project !

So, in Lloyd Grossman style, let's look at the evidence.

The M14 was displayed at the motorshow as a concept of Noble's future cars. That concept went through many changes and turned into the M15. The M14 was essentially just a rebodied M12, and didn't cut the mustard, and so significant engineering changes were made.

The M15 was previewed to the press, and then shown on top gear as Noble's new car. Shortly after that the Jones' left and a new investor is taken on.

Since then, apart from the odd titbit there has been silence.

Do you think Noble have just been sitting there doing nothing? Do you think they don't read these forums? Why do you suppose they haven't said anything?

Err - whell here are my guess for 10.

1) Because the changes from the M15 (Jones model) are rather drastic?
2) Because the M15 isn't just going to be an M12 with the engine the other way and in a new body?
3) Because there are other, more serious changes?

I have no idea, but I do know the engineering output of Lee and so 6 months is a long time for him to be working on the car....

One thing that does make me chuckle is that the R8 is mentioned around here. Remember that was first mooted when the Avus was launched. That was in 1991 (!) and it took a complete management change of VAG to allow the car to be launched (the rumours are that all of Audi's 911 beater cars were suppressed for years and years by a certain large Porsche share owner that also was on VAGs board...)

I do pity the poor Audi owners that have been waiting for their Avus deposits to materialise......

Perhaps Lee just changed the management a bit quicker than Audi did

The R8 was the descendant of the Le Mans concept not directly from the AVUS.

I agree that any car that a manufacturer puts out as a concept is not a always destined for production and nor should it be.

Those who want to attempt to head any queue and have a few grand to spare is worth a punt I reckon.

The M14 was such a beast - to gauge public reaction and to show the way Noble was looking to go. Great no problem with that

The difference comes when the decide to move towards production and the attitude from there on in differs greatly between Noble and Audi.

Once I laid my unearned cash on the R8, Audi keep sending me info to keep me onboard. I can get my deposit with a phone call tomorrow with no worries.

You do need to keep the "depositer" informed throughout the process - its their money.

I was seriously interested in the M15 but after the car was shown to the public earlier this year very little info was made available (except your excellent reviews of course). Just the major shock of a replacement investor to deal with...

Noble should be actively caring for the 80? or so early adopters/guinea pigs this doesn't seem to be the case (Just a chosen few does not count)
