hey.
i used to run my hs4 carb with an AAS needle then bought a stage 1 kit and was supplied an AAC. But as well as it runs, i cant afford the petrol money lol. Has anyone got any suggestions what needle i could use to make it a little more economical? also it is really really sluggish. just replaced points (set to the right gap)and condenser because it was running like a bag of nails. but now it is the opposite. it doesnt like starting and when u pull the choke out it just stalls. Could it be too rich??? or might this hav something to do with the 99 octane fuel that got put in accidently with my fuel additive (leaded car)
many thanks for any help.

have a look and see if the wax stat is broken. remove the dashpot and what not and look down at the jet.
if its not flush, screw it up so its level.
if it still runs like a bag of pants like this it sugests that the engine heat has cooked the wax and jammed it fully rich, it may be impossible to set the jet level - in which case its 100% broken.
with a functioning wax jet and either a AAU (element) or AAA (richer panckae) it should be easy to set up and fairly economical.
