I know I am thinking of myself here, but where do TVR parts come from? Are they likely to remain available, or have supplies/will supplies just dry up?

i dont see it as thinking of yourself. The parts come from numerous suppliers. I have heard TVR Power are taking over spares. If there is any part you were thinking off ( or anybody else) I could find out which company. I know the lads in purchasing and I'm ceratin they have not been laid off (yet)

The situation of OE parts becoming scarce for no other reason than TVR and its supplies slugging it out over unpaid bills is intolerable. It's been this way for too long already. Perhaps perversely, parts supply would improve if TVR themselves were removed from the equation.

Where there's demand, the market will supply. TVR's issues with suppliers has interfered with that simple dynamic. However, due to TVR's past performances, a growing number of entrepreneurial dealers/indies have devised superior alternative parts with reliable supply and - sometimes - lower prices than OE parts.

Not that much money is now outstanding in the last 6 month's the debt is very very low. This is mainly due to every company TVR dealt with putting them on a proforma account. Another reason theres has been no substantial deliveries for months most suppliers worked on a 30 / 60 / 90 day account when no payments were made to them they have gone legal triggering a payment being made, hence not a lot outstanding

What about the more major parts, lets say for example a Cerbera chassis... surely these would be quite costly/ difficult to get made up now? / any idea if they are even still available and at what cost?

the jigs are still at the factory but all the welders in the machine shop are laid off. As for the tube to build the chassis i bet they could'nt even get it supplied

I didn't say debt was the reason for parts issues, I made reference to the relationship between TVR and suppliers.

my local dealer got a new pod for my tuscan from TVR POWER,it took 3 weeks to come and a week at the factory to be fixed, silly question but hows fixing them gonna work when it closes?all the other bits i asked for (gaitor for gear stick etc)they could not get hold of and are on "back order", think it will be a long wait.......

thanks for the replies guys, looks like it'll be an interesting time. I guess I was asking to find out the 'official supply route' especially for a car under warranty. I guess if there is a good guy with the contract to supply stuff as was intimated in one of the posts, that's a good thing.

I am concerned as my Tamora is my main car and much as I love it (and I do), I am thinking that this might not a good thing anymore (as I need a relied upon main car that can be fixed in a sesnible timeframe should it go wrong!) and that I should replan.

So for certain parts we are censored.

Great.

If you have a chassis, and a tape measure and some steel tube. it is not beyond (even what is left of) british specialist indy car industry to knock up a chasis based on one you have in front of you...

Bits of steel will be the least of the problems, things like the tuscan instrument pods might be a bit more problematic, even then someone will do it (PROBABLY EX FACTORY now)
