Can you believe it???

I don't believe it!
I've been clamped.... for parking in a space that I pay for!!!!!
Yep, don't let the fact that I handed over £60 of hard earned cash yesterday fool you.... or the fact that the said clamp, as installed is all down to the fact that they made a total cock up on their database... no! Because the clamp is already in place, it's out of the managements hands as the clamping is contracted so it's not their problem... So here I am with my beloved Cerby clamped and immovable, held to ransom for £125.

If it was a standard clamp I'd have the wheel off and remove it myself (hence avoiding the "release" fee). But no, it's got a great big chain on it, straight through my front wishbone.

Pay the ransome, release the beast then contact them saying (get a friendly friend at a local friendly garage to write out an invoice) that during the clamp installationg they have damaged the wishbone and the wheel causing the car to be undriveable and you recquire re-compensating for xxx dollars

I've paid up and have the beast back. Now I'll have to go through the small claims court to get the money back. I've requested copies of the receipts for the past three months, showing the correct registration number before they cocked up the database. Nice idea about the wishbone damage, that would certainly make them think twice about clamping my car again.
I've gotta check the arch as well due to said clamper getting the chain stuck in the very small gap between tyre and arch.

That is disgusting. Think I would have cut it off. Barstewards.
I would have mate but they already thought of that and advise that if the clamp is damaged then they'll take criminal action against you

Yeah didn't think of that. still like the idea of cutting the padlock off and replacing it though. Maybe with one from the Pound shop. That will teach them

Can't you just remove it, 'dispose' of it and deny all knowledge?
Hmmm...
If you cut the thing and take it off, broken and leave it besides your car...how do they know you did it? You use gloves, set it up and take a pic of it on your camera phone.
You then ask what the hell is going on? This is the first you know of anything, you have paid your dosh, why are you now being clamped and why has somebody already broken said clamp?
No proof against you for anything and in fact every legal aspect is on your side as all the paperwork is. All it would be is a massive inconvenience and cock up to the clamping company.
