Custom Exhaust systems

Whats the general view on custom exhaust systems for Porsches. Is it recommended to get a system from a manufacturer like supersprint or Gembella or something along those lines or could a fully custom system be just as good.
I'm posting this for a friend who has a GT3 RS and for the similar price of system from a reputed German manufacturer, a local place can fabricate him a fully custom, full titanium system. The local place normally does a lot of fabrications for race cars and kit cars so isn;t the average powerflow place.
The car in question is a 996 GT3-RS.

A GT3RS is in a very high state of tune for a normally aspirated car (996s have made 420bhp in standard form), so there is no way I would let the local pipe monkeys near one, were I lucky enough to have one.
It would have to be a tried and tested system suitable for an RS.
On a Carrera, it wouldn't bother, but that much closer to the edge, it would.
