I remember seeing a small news item in one of the car mags a few months back that someone is making a crank and case that you bolt two four cylinder bike engine blocks to so you get a V8. I think it was aimed at the track day special market. Seem to remember there were amazing stats quoting mega high power and mega low weight.

Can't find the article now. Anyone know more details?

Seem to remember that this topic got a mention somewhere on this thread - if you can spare a couple of hours working through it...

Not sure if there was any specific reference info though.

Someone did this about 10 years ago with a pair of GSXR1100 engines, don't know the details though

You could get 4 916 engines and bolt them together, that should give you 4 litres and about 500 hp

The Radical engine is being developed by Maxsym Engine Technology. The engine's based on two Hayabusa cyclinder heads inclined at an angle of 72 degrees as far as I can tell, which makes it a little more compact for a transverse installation like the Radical (presumably so they can use the existing quaife transfer and Diff?). I think they were aiming for around 320hp to begin with. As if Radicals weren't fast enough....

There's also the Drysdale V8 that was built a few years ago by and aussie (Ian Drysdale). That was based on two FZR400 heads I think. Try a search on google for his website.

I seem to remember that Quaife were in the process of producing a V8, somewhere around 2 litre displacement. Can't remember any details though.

Cheers
