Leaking fluid DOT4 fluid from MX5 calipers
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I recently had recon calipers fitted on the back and had DOT4 brake fluid as well.
During the week the brake warning light came on due to low brake fluid. It' leaking out somewhere on the new rear calipers.
Could it be that the fluid wasn't compatible?? I've checked all the fittings on the calipers and the only one with some fluid around it is the one connecting to the brake hose. I did manage to tweek it a bit tighter but it certainly wasn't loose...

p.s. I'm going to take it back to the garage that fitted the calipers to see what they say the problem is.

Well the garage that fitted the calipers has found no leaks in the brake system. (And frankly I believe them as i've been driving it around all week with no loss). They did suggest it could have been an air lock in the system that "came out". But personally I suspect a garage that the GF took the car too in a rush to fix a broken light, drained enough fluid off (out the rear calipers, hence fluid on the inside of the rear tyres) to make the light come on hoping she'd bring it back in.
