Anyone have any cheap suppliers of ear plugs they could let me know about? I use the Max orange earplugs and prices of 25-50 pence per pair is laughable.

www.safetysupplies.co.uk/ sell a 200 pack of them for £14.80 + vat but the postage is nearly 6 quid which seems on the high side for a few ounces.

Anyone know anyone even cheaper?

Thanks,

Mark

er.... this guy sells 14 different types, a fiver gets you a sample pack of each of the different types, but he sends them out before you have to pay which is very trusting, don't know wether he's cheap or not, check his web site

www.earplugs.gb.com

hope this helps, Mark

I dont know if mark the site owner is on PH, but I helped him write and design the site. nice bloke, prices are very good, and speed of delivery is exellent. the larger the pack, the cheaper they are (per pair)

FYI you ought to change plugs after every few rides, they loose there sound protection after too many squeezes, but some are washable.

He is now a motrax and oxford dealer too.

Cheers, order placed

Mark

Edited to add: I emailed the original supplier I mentioned to ask why the postage was so high on such a light item and they didn't get back to me so I'd rather give my business to someone who's recommended rather than a company that can't be *rsed to answer its emails.

Got my stuff today but no mention of how much he wanted for the p&p. Checked the website and found that the price requested *includes* p&p. How good a service is that?

Highly recommended and I'll be posting the cheque off tonight.

Regards,

Mark

My sister-in-law is an audioligist and made me a set of non-disposible ear plugs. These are made from a sort of silicon and have to be custom made. They really cut the noise levels down.

However.....
They are great in the SEAC (I can hear the stereo on the motorway when the ear plugs in!); but they get a bit uncomfortable under a bike helmet after a couple of hours riding. Mind you, the worst bit is getting the lid on and off.....

So I still prefer foam earplugs
