Thanks for your replies chaps.

A dealer in Jersey is asking GBP17,995

I will take a look and let you know what I think.

Any other hints/tips on what to look out for would be appreciated. I have never been too up close and personal to a Porsche before now but I can appreciate the excitement.

Cheers

Lisa

These cars (as any 911) can be very expensive to fix. Once you have decided you like it, make sure you get a PPI by an experienced engineer to identify potential problems.
Good luck.
PS: I'm assuming from your handle that you are female, never seen a lady 965 owner before. These cars are beasts. You go girl!!

Don't forget that as an lhd car, it'll have come from another country which will make it nigh on impossible to trace its' history.

Check that VAT was paid on the car at source when new otherwise you'll have to pay VAT on it when it comes into the UK.

In this month's Porsche Post, there is an RHD turbo cabriolet for sale - 60k miles, (IIRC) fsh and £17k - given that, I'd say that you can easily find an RHD car, coupe, targa, or cabriolet for within your £20k budget.

Finally, it is very much a buyer's market at the moment - for all cars. Add to that the fact that winter is here and you will find you can strike a good deal anywhere.

The best hint/tip I can offer is to maintain an enormous wallet, positively overflowing with hard currency. You'll need it.

'turbo' is actually derived from an ancient Japanese term describing a water buffalo which will only eat fifty pound notes.

What year is it ?
Could be a 930, not a 965 (the wheels do fit)
