Are there any Caterham owners on this site? If so is there an equivalent of PistonHeads for Caterham owners? If not why not have a Caterham forum on here Ted? Mike. (wants a Superlight R once he's sold the Tuscan).

Try www.blatchat.com Tell them you quite like Westfields as well (there are a few owners of them hanging out there too) and they'll welcome you with open arms. They're a pretty friendly bunch.

Mike, we have a Caterham 7, it's only a 1700 cross flow engine though, not the dizzy heights of the Superlight R. It's still a belter of a car, mind you. Try these: www.se7ens.net www.lotus7club.co.uk www.caterhamracing.com The seven club are selling an in car video of a lap of the Nurburgring from a Superlight R which should give you a taster!

Thanks guys.... oh yeah Nick, I happened to venture onto the H&H site the other day so will think twice about your 'Westfield introduction technique' Mike.

The 'Clubman Corner' is intended to satisfy that need, but I need to sort out a moonlighter to keep me up to speed with what's occurring on that scene as I only get the major news stories, not the odds and sods that make it more interesting. There is a forum! Clubman Corner needs renaming I guess!

Nick behave, your at it again you know thats a swear word at blatchat. In all honesty I used to have a Caterham and found the seven club and the blatchat pages brilliant there's a massive amount of seven knowledge and some people who've done some pretty extreme things to a seven on there. They are in short the Caterham / Seven equivalent of what Ted is to TVR (just not quite as good)

Bugger - rumbled again !!! There's plenty of technical advice available, just don't expect rationality or objectivity to feature in many of their discussions.....

Oh, and www.se7ens.net is a less Caterham orientated e-mail list which is extremely useful if you have a technical query. Chances are someone on the list will have an answer for you.

Well when you consider a basic R500 starts at £30k and for that you get a wired chassis and 10 boxes of bits. Caterham regard everthing as an extra with an options list that shows "assemby" about £1500 then paint, windscreen, heaters, doors, roof are all extras !!!! mind you they are good fun and I will confess the only reason mine went was because at 6'3" I hand to take the steering wheel off to get in and my shoes off to work the pedals. It was all a pain in the arse going for a drive in the country on a sunday for a pub lunch to walk in with a steering wheel and if you wanted to look a right tosser a pair of race booties! Le Mans forget it I spent all weekend thinking sh1t I've got that drive home to do. A fun car should be that. Fun means room to breath, power a plenty, a noise to die for, looks to kill and an enjoyable drive. The Caterham got 6/10 the Griff gets 10.

What you want is a Westfield - loads of room in them and I'm the same height as you.

Or the new Caterham SV - longer cockpit (missis) and more hip room, too!

Mike - Superlight R, good choice! I've got a bright yellow one and it is completely mad. Will vouch for usefulness of blatchat as well. Also have a 4.5 Cerbie for those "calm" days

Pistonted, could you email me with regards to the "moonlighter" you thought you may require for the clubmans section. I would like to think that I fit the bill rather well and would love the opportunity! pablo pinkslipdaddy@hotmail.com pablo
