After a few brown-trouser moments on the Northunstable Hoon, I'm going to upgrade my pads from the Nissan OEM parts.

Shortlist so far is: Pagid FR, Ferodo DS2500, and Mintex 1144.

Any comments on these - or are there any others worth considering?

The car is used on road only, so they need to work from cold - and ideally be low-dust.

I have always used M1144 in my performance road cars and have not had any complaints, however I have not tried and compared it to the others you say. I would like to try the Ferodo though. I did once try standard pads (made by AP Lockheed) just in normal road use and they were scary compared to the Mintex. They did not work as well and the feel was awful.

The M1144 work when cold but work better when warm. When sprinting and hillclimbing I ride the brake as I make my way to the start and try to do a few applications before I start.

What ever you choose follow the installation and bedding instructions.

I've just ordered some Mintex 1144 for the front, and I'm leaving the rear as stock.

Given a (static) F/R weight distribution of 63/37 eek, I can't see that the rears do much - allowing for forward weight transfer during braking. Correct me if I'm wrong...
