It just struck me that despite the sort of rivalry that exists between marques, a lot of TVR owners have owned Porsches or have moved on to Porsches (a good few Tuscan owners by the sounds of things!). Is there a pent up desire for Porsche news/content here that isn't being satisfied? Speak now

Maybe just adding one group in the gassing station for covering everything. Obviously I'd be interested in any news, etc -don't know how the die hard TVR enthusiast might have to say about it though....

Interesting, Ted. I don't think TVR diehards would mind too much if there was a bit of Porsche content. After all, they're a good-natured pie-eating friendly bunch, with never a bad word to say about others. Well, hardly ever, and you can't really blame them for reacting to Bavarian provocation. Weiner Schnitzel is not to everyone's taste......... The majority of Pistonhead posts come from TVR drivers, and that is how it should be. It's their site, and interlopers like me are only allowed to witter on by consent - we have no God-given right to be here at all. The 'posting' statistics look like this: General Gassing 33.3% Lotus 5.8% TVR 58.5% Clubman Corner .4% Other Marques 1.1% Motorsport .9% If you make the quite reasonable assumption that half General Gassing is posted by TVR drivers, you have a TVR content of 75% - leaving 25% for those of us who have not been, er, Blessed by Blackpool. The General Gassing and TVR sections are just great as they stand, but perhaps it would be an advantage to combine Clubman Corner and Motorsport under a single Motorsport heading. Lotus could be included in Other Marques with the existing four manufacturers, and possibly Porsche would fit in there too. And while I'm at it surely the four separate Lotus sections could amalgamated under the single 'Lotus' heading. After all, they do have their own websites. I'll keep me head down - well down !

Whilst I'm not about to look a gift horse this is not a TVR only site.

The readership is a lot more diverse - it's just that the forums have become home to TVR fans due to the origins of the site (and I'm very grateful to you all!).

The site needs to cater to the sportscar scene in general and attract advertisers other than just TVR related if it's to improve.

For example the levels of interest in the Lotus news are on a par with that of the TVR news, but can I get a Lotus dealer to advertise?! :(

The site is still viewed very much as a TVR site so I have to be very careful how to grow it without jeopardising what it is today. Am I way off topic now...?

Going back to your original point, I will be juggling some of the non-TVR forums.

I had a Boxster and was all set to trade it in for a 911 until I drove the Chimaera. Next stop....Tuscan!

Forgive my ignorance Zertec, but what onn earth is a 'dancing donkey'? Maybe a de-tuned horse that brays when you push the neigh button. I'm puzzled...

I'd suggest that it might be, perhaps, a euphemism for "prancing horse". Geddit?
