Ugh. My 93 Mayfair is in need of some bodywork - Most worringly the scuttle is looking a bit of a mess. Other than the wing and A-panel the rest of the cars pretty mint. Could anyone give me a ball park figure for a scuttle repair?
Have a word with mini machine for a repair section. I've got a habit of making my own repair sections which is a hassle, but cheap. Can you get bits of metal joined together or do you have to pay someone to do it?
With the screen and dash out it's a fairly simple job to MIG-weld up.
In fact, if doing the A panel as well, it's best to do the scuttle ends first, then the A and the wings.
The biggest problem will be the up-coming unavailability of cellulose paint due to the new Euro-regulations from next January.
Mini Spares do a scuttle repair piece (handed either RHD/LHD Side). provided the tin worm isn't too advanced you can let one straight in. I did mine and didn't (luckiliy) have to remove the screen.

Cheers, unfortunatley its pretty horrible, bubbling out from under the rubber of the screen.
scuttles can be found for much cheapness and decent quality on ebay, but m machine are generally thought to have high quality panels but you get what you pay for. as for carrying out the work the quotes will vary wildly from place to place so its best just to shop around. the job itself is not a massive task for an experience auto welder.

Removing the screen really isn't that hard. Remove the chrome retaining strip from the outside of the rubber, then sit in the car and use your feet (with clean soft shoes) to push it out, working from a corner. I've done this numerous times in the past and never cracked one yet.

also, was just thinking that depending on the extent of rust on your scuttle you may be able to get away with repair ends, which are cheaper to buy but you would still need welder and sprayshop
