Hi Guys
Hoping for some help, some of you are running prosport or stengthened CV shafts, and i'd like to know where to get hold of them(I tried emailing Scuffers but you have a PH email block)
We run the same Granada shaft and hub on a racing LS1 TVR as the Ultima and with only 400hp and slicks have snapped two so far at the base of the shank.
With a second car in in the build, both will be over 500hp,these shafts aint going to cut it.

Any info appreciated

pics to make sure ive got the same.

Go direct to GKN. Give them the exact dimensions/specifications you require and do not mention the word Ultima. It may be worth making a spacer for the Ford hub and spec 108mm flanges/bearings on both ends of the shaft (as we did) because the majority of failures have been in this area and using the same Porsche type joint both ends is a definite upgrade and enhanced safety measure. They aint cheap, but you won't find better.

Thanks for that, their 108's already,i'll get a price from GNK,but it will probably be cheaper to have them made here.
What I like about the prosport's is the reinforced meat at the bottom of the shank, which I could turn a small radius (like the porches) and mill out a little bit of the hub flange.

I think the Grasser (Dutch?) racing guys have come up with some sort of heavy duty soln, they made their own hubs from billet I seem to recall ???

So I guess they used custom 1/2 shafts as well, might be worth a try.

Clive has had some experience with uprating the CV shafts. You might ask him. Aside from this, I can put you in touch with someone who I KNOW will be able to help you.
Cheers!

Yes, talk to Jeff Schwartz. He is now up in the crazy HP numbers with his Twin Turbo Ultima and has beefed up his axles. See link for more info.

Thanks everyone, will follow up,on a side note I think ive found 20 GNK motorsport drive shafts that have been floating around here in NZ left over from a Holden racing job, should be the same length as what you guys are running.

Have I??

try info (at) teamscandal (Dot) Com

stubbs etc are the hard bit, but I have got a route to get new ones made now (just in the process of a re-design for the centrelock after loosing wheels in the 24H)

shafts themselves are easy, just a case of getting them made from something decent and proper head treatment
