Just to introduce myself, picked up my first TVR tonight, nice Azure Blue S2. Done a few miles but has been cherished and has had 'all' the bits done, chassis etc etc, got a few minor marks but nothing too horrible. One quick question does anyone know what Azure Blue equates to in the world outside TVR. I know they 'stole' from everybody else and was wondering what to look for in Halfrauds for stone chip masking.

I had the same problem with red, although a solid colour.
After not doing anything for ages, I went to 'H' with no expectations. However a smashing lad went through all the colour code books with my colour code (found on the identity plate under the bonnet)-but without success. He said TVR's were 'pigs' to match so then produced a full colour swatch and went outside to the car and we both picked what seemed the right colour, using the swatches, setting them against the car in different positions and angles - in the sun and shade etc. very professional. After agreeing the best match then mixed a pot from the colour machine (like the Dulux system)! and then let me test it on the car before agreeing a good match and a final payment of £8.50 (about I think).
Brilliant service plus an interesting chat about a Mk 2 Escort he and his Dad were racing so good result all round.
Paint is 'spot' on
and does the chips a treat.
Otherwise I think other threads on PH have specialist suppliers that may be worth a go, but I had no need.

I'm pretty new on here too but I have to say that they seem like a good bunch!
Regarding the paint: v8whiskey's plan sounds very good. My S has had a respray at some point in it's life and I'm led to believe that lots of others have too. Mine isn't a bad job, it's certainly in a speedy colour
, but there's a few bits of overspray around the mesh grilles at the front. Also, even if yours is the original paint job I'm not sure if the colour is likely to fade/alter over time. These cars are getting on a bit now...

S3DaveP Convinced me it was the way to go!
I looked at loads of cars before settling on this one, came from PistonHeads and was quite local, higher mileage than I had planned but it has had all the worrying bits done all ready.
Now waiting for a dry day to have some fun, looks like Friday might be noisy around the SG area.

Thanks I will have a look, beginning to feel very welcome here myself the search facility is much better than the WSCC site but the forum is a little less active. It's been a great help in defining what to look out for and for the upgrades / changes I am already making to make her my own.
Dave was a great help and veiwing and going out in his S3 helped me decide to sell the Westfield as there was an alternative that pushed all the right buttons.
