There is a "new" player, Barabus officially unveiled the TKR: a new 1005 horsepower supercar the automaker says is capable of doing zero to 60 mph in 1.67 secondsyikes What's more, the car reportedly has a top speed of 270 mph — nearly 20 more than the Veyronyikes Power comes from a 6.0 liter V8 twin-turbocharged with dual intercoolers. The car has a full carbon fibre body and chassis. Further details remain sparse, but the automaker says it will sell the car for £360,000, which should translate to around $500,000, using typical automotive market conversion rates.
Thats fast...also cost some money but me likes it can't pay one tho

That sounds like fun but I don't like the look of rigid oil lines strung across the top of the engine bay, and chequer plate in an engine bay is just Wrong.

Isn't the transmission basically the same as the twin turbo Ultima of a certain PH member called Jeff ?

Be interesting to see how they do this, bearing in mind it took VW xxx millions to get the Veyron that powerful, stable and reliable for that top speed.

It's very easy to theorise though

Nah, stub shaft broke when I tryed. 1006 is way overkill, that's all I can say.

hmm just like the ones that broke on a Z100 twin bike car with 500hp tested by Tiff Needel? to brake the 0 to 60 record...to much for those shafts...or bad shafts? saw it back it was a rod? don't know what that is with my poor english

http://video.google.nl/videoplay?doci

I think indeed a Ultima GTR with lets say max 650<>750hp is more then anough for most things and to scare yourselfhehe

yikes now thats amazing !!!!

Thats a hell of a lot of performance for a mear £350k. Almost seams too good to be true, especially (as previously stated) as it took VW MILLIONS to produce and refine the Veryon. Good find though Rene.

Personally, I find it ugly.

Would rather build an Ultima for ~ 80,000 USD
Buy an M5 for everyday use for ~ 81,500 USD
and then have 338,800$ USD left for a nice house

Cheers

Wrong.
You meant to say $338,800 left for a nice garage.

Ok its a bit costley...but compared to other very...very fast cars it is not, but indeed if I had that amount of money and not more I would buy a secondhand supercar and a nice house with a big garagehehe here some more pics of that 4.28 mtr wich is also my max for a sportscar(don't like long cars!)

That will not do 0-60mph in 1.67seconds.... It'd need drag slicks minimum.

Regardless if it can live up to its claims, it still looks like a kid with papier mache et glue went into a salvage yard and tried to make something to impress his friends with.

Also I would like to see how the drivetrain would stand up to those 0-60times.

hehe ok to be honest I don't like the backend...but the rest till the end of the doors I like...its not that bad and some things are functional...ok lets talk about a Updated Ultima GTR then...

Some minor cosmetic changes...such as other lightunits or change the front a bit also to fit other tires/wheelcombo's?

Some chassis changes...such as more aluminum use maybe even a complete alu chassis?

Some engine changes... such as more modern reliable engines? like LS1<>7 and also a choise of other V8 like BMW or Audi ready to fix in the Ultima?

???
