If it's not commercially viable then no amount of emotional outpourings will keep TVR in the UK. It'll be a nice day out though I'm sure.

I think this is an excellent idea...
It may not change anything but it will be a public display of A)The passion of TVR drivers / owners around the country an B) NS may finally get the idea of what TVR is all about.. Passion for the product and what comes with it..

I think we should make an effort for this to happen..

A bit of TVR Spirit chaps and chapesses!!

I think you're forgetting that exactly this happened back in June when well over a hundred cars graced the factory car park and Blackpool promenade.

He know's the passion the brand evokes - that's why he bought the company, but he thankfully values common sense (and his bank balance) above the emotional backdrop of UK built cars.

Yeah, while we're at it, we can run through the streets with flaming torches and set fire to the council house. That'll show 'em!

Stop it. An anarchistic parade of cars would only serve to underline to NS the sound nature of his decision.

No i havent forgotten the back home 2006 event thanks.. That was an annual celebration with zero knowledge of this pending situation..

This is a defiant protest.. same location.. totally different circumstances..

You believe it is common sense to relocate the entire company abroad? TVR's arent Ford Focus's or other EURO boxes. They are a BRITISH sports car.. Founded and run over the years by people with a passion for making something truely unique and as i say very british..

Yes you have to make money to survive, but TVR relies on more than just figures and labour costs.. (something which has no doubt eroded over recent years for a number of reasons..the least being labour/factory cost in my eyes)

Despite huge corporate ownership why do Rolls Royce and Aston Martin remain essentially british? Why are Marcos's and Nobles assembled here?
I'm sure the owners could have s0dded off to Siberia or similar far off place and assembled their cars a bit cheaper.. There is more to some things than just labour/factor costs.. You have to look at the big picture.. Passion / Brand Image / Skill set / brand loyalty to name but a few.

Ford have made some stoinking cock-ups but one they didn't make was to relocate the Entire Aston Martin company oversees. Yes Ford is much bigger so there are a large number of parts from the Ford parts bin, but even Ford have pretty much realised that the heart of Aston must remain British for it to have any true value..

TVR, in essence, is exactly the same..

Exactly Fire99..
Sounds like a plan to me, even if they are partially relocating abroad like most semi-British companies it wouldn't be so bad.. but totally shipping out of the UK will do no good for TVR in my eyes.

Although you can count me out for obvious reasons

I will if you want?
Bearing in mind how many of my "TVR still alive-still kickin" stickers were posted.
If fellow Tiv owners require some to be made? post on here.

Just a thought from a non tvr owner (but fan)
Would using the Virgina Waters meet in November with
support from all Ph'ers / enthusiasts gain more exposure?

e.g. raise funds for those made redundant etc

Appreciate it maybe be too late i.e. a month after todays news, but may gain more media coverage, partilculary if we have any high profile PHer's

Big Al.

Sorry dont agree, TVR are a bit like the country pub who looses its customers, to try and make the books straight they inrease there prices and they then loose more customers (catch 22)

When TVR increased there prices the writing was on the wall. Plus they have nothing to sell apart from two hardcore cars which only appeals to a minute market.

TVR'S predicament was obvious if the rose coloured specs are taken off.

I do admire some TVR owners naivety on here at the moment.

TVR are and have been for a while dead and burried..
