Cat D Noble: Would u buy?

Just wondering if any of you Noble enthusiasts would buy one thats been involved in an accident. Yes it carries a stigma but if its been done right surely alot of money to save? This one on Ebay looks cheap.

I think 25k too much because of the cat D plus from the other posting sounds like the owner has been doing his own maintenance etc, 20k sounds more realistic.

I was watch a car program the other day (recs to riches) and they said if you get the car inspected by some board of people (who class the group D) then it goes on the register as not Group D but repaired and meets all standards.

Yes that is true, on the earlier 3Rs the 6 speed + LSD was an option.

Interesting. I'm not intending this post to be derogatory towards this car in any way, but around 6 weeks ago when I was looking to buy a 3R, I could have sworn I saw this car on the PH classifieds at around £33k. I remember because I was admiring the lovely grounds in the background! At that time, I don't believe it was a catD. The only thing that put me off was the 5-speed box.

Quite right, It was forsale on PH about 6 months ago @33k, I know as I was looking for one @ the time. Don't know if it has been crashed since or they just did not mention it was cat D.

Yes i remember too seeing this car aswell for around 33-35k and seeing the nice surroundings. Again nothing was mentioned of a cat d.

my personal opinion is that a cat d is always going to be difficult to sell on unless its very cheap

cheap and sports car - are not two words you would normally associate

i would avoid it and get a proper one - unless its really cheap

If the car is written off then insurance company won't pay the bill, as it's too close to the value of the car.

So, looking at the value of the car, 25K or so, that to me sounds like quite a shunt. I'd say both clams and maybe some chassis damage ?


Thus, a cat 'D' car will never be an easy sell, and if it's been in a shunt, you may find that full extent of the damage has not been discovered, unless you can get in contact with who ever repaired the car.

Personally I would not pay more than 18-19K for this car, unless you never want to sell it.

25K ? Not a chance.

30 + K, you'd have to be mad.
