Just wanted to see what other fixes you guys have (other than Ultimas) for your need for speed.

This is one of mine.... its called a Zapcat... 150kg inflatable cat with a 50hp outboard with race prop. It'll do 60mph with the 50hp and as you can see form the video's, it'll stand on end when you gun it. I've driven one with an 80hp and it is insane...

I live in a village by the sea in Hong Kong and the guy that sells them (in the photo below) lives a few doors up, so there's about 15 of them in our village. Took a 1/2 day off yesterday and 4 of us went out in the surf jumping waves and yahooin'... my back is killing me today...

For me,owning an Ultima is an escape, a one off, a release if you like (not to mention the realisation of an automotive dream that has been nagging for neigh on to twenty odd years now!). In everyday life I am a normal hum drum run of the mill kind of guy with little interest in doing much else other than spending time with my family and working, which incidentally, I enjoy immensely. Don't know if I am a boring SOG or one lucky individual but I am very happy and content.

Just got back from 10 days in Koh Samui, an island off Thailand

Stayed at a mates place down there, an awesome villa on the beach. I sent my old Zapcat down there, here's a short video of me enjoying the tranquility of Samui in the Zapcat.

In the video I'm sitting right back and playing the throttle to keep it like that - they usually sit flat in the water at high speed.

.. oh... they cost about GBP5K new here in Hong Kong and being a 50hp are extremely cheap to run.

As you probably know I'm a speed junkie too.
I picked up a yellow 2007 GSXR 1000 Saturday, it matches my GTR.
It lifts the front like that boat.

Point a Cessna 152 directly at the ground from about 3,000' AGL over the approach-end of the runway. You and your passenger push and hold the doors open with your feet slowing the plane to about 60 mph looking straight at the ground. Swoop to level in the last 300' on approach to landing. WoooHooo!

After the Ultima is on the road, here's the next home-built project:

Climb at 2,600 feet per minute, 220 MPH top speed, take off in 250 feet of ground roll, all on 200 HP.

Yes! There are LSx conversions for aviation. However, not for this two-seater. The problem is that most (all) water-cooled engines don't like the wide variety of temperatures experienced when flying from sea-level to 20,000 (+) feet.

Ahhh, yes. There's nothing quite like the feeling of warm barf running down the back of your neck. I may have to put a plexi screen between pilot and passenger.

Side note: You can build this airplane to a nice spec for about $65k.

Anyone thought of building their own helicopter ? I've been toying with the idea after having had my first lesson which felt akin to a roller coaster ride.

That guy on Sky built his own helicopter, Mark Evans, was quite interesting.........

My self and my stepson have a very quick go kart....
Biland with 28hp it sounds awesome and pulls lateral 3G round corners, everytime i drive it my back etc kills me but never mind!! Also into bikes but i havnt got one at the moment.

Watched the 'A Helicopter Is Born' series by Mark Evans and did not see anything more difficult to do than building an Ultima.
Would like to do one but it has limiations like you can't take it to the Virginia Water meet or do tunnel runs.
