Camcorder - any recommendations

My current MiniDV cam is playing silly beggars and is intermittent in recording audio. The heads have been cleaned and it's not that.
It's a JVX DX95 - a great little thing but I've had it three years and it's been in for repair twice in that time, this'll be it's third.
The repair shop are looking at £110+Vat to fix it and I'm guessing for not much more money I'ld get a brand new one and probably have less hassle.
Requirements which are fairly simple -
MiniDV.
A/V In for the bullet cam (which I've still to buy)
Small.
So let's say there's a budget of 300 nuggets to play with - I'm flexible with this within reason.
I'm a Mac user so the HD option is not worth considering at this time.
Any recommendations to consider / avoid.
