Well deserved, tough competition this year too!!!

Congrats to PH'er "Tail slide" too... not only did he manage 2nd place in the TVR championship, I *think* he may have won the TVR class in the Midland Speed Championship.

For those who don't sprint/ arent aware of it, look up the dates on the TVRCC website/ www.midlandspeed.org.uk and come along to an event. Even if its just to watch, you'll be astonished by the ability of the drivers and cars. Make sure you come over to the paddock for a chat, always a great atmosphere.

and watch for a new web site coming VERY soon.

www.TVRSpeedChampionship.co.uk

As the name implies it's the 'official' site for the championship.

Hear, hear.

And the swine came within a whisker of a clean sweep, too. Someone sponsor him to go and do the Dunlop Tuscan Challenge, for Ghod's sake, and give the rest of us a chance!

A very well-derserved win. The TVRCCSC handicap system may be the cause of much debate amongst it's competitors, but it is always won by drivers who have excelled.

Not only do the winners normally have to contend with a pretty rigorous schedule of events - rather than dabbling like us mere mortals - in order to get sufficient high-scoring rounds under their belts, but they also exhibit unbeleiveable car control.

The very first time Simon visted Loton Park he was on the pace immediately and won. That said, I did actually beat him there the weekend before last, but I think that fluke was down to the weather.

Simon gives the outward appearance of being an intelligent, well-balanced member individual, but without exaggeration, seeing him drive you'd often think he'd stolen the car. From someone he really hates.

Congratualtions Simon!

Must just add my congratulations to Simonclap, not only has he gone out and demolished everyone else he proved that a Wedge can still cut it with the more modern machinery, beating them on "real" time as well as the corrected on handicap ones. Despite what has been said in the paddock he`s not a bad lad either hehe
Look forward to him buying the beers at Staverton next month drink
Roll on next year, I`m getting excited already.

Thank you for all the very kind words. I had not seen this thread until now, so apologies for the rather belated response.

Looking forward to another great season's competition, when I suspect Jes in his Cerbera will be out to reclaim the title. Time will tell...

hehe I can assure you there was at least one other TVR series where spending ££££ didnt mean you won in fact I'd lay odds the winning team spent mucho less that any other team that did the whole series... you only have to look at the state of their tyres for that yikes hehe

deserved kind words...

Simon, out of interest - what class are you/ anyone else you know entering this year? Dad seems confused as technically, with the Cerb, midland speed wont let us enter into any class at all, with the exception of sports libre... which isnt exactly great news!

All the best for 07' see you soon! I have a Trackday in the Cerb in march, so depending on how comfortable I am with it, I may join you crazy lot in the championship at a couple of events!! eek

6 champions - 3 wedge winners. Simon, Tony Bradfield and myself.

Want to win? Get a wedge.
