Does anyone know of any software which can take a photo and turn it into a diagram? I am thinking of a photo of say some components, then turning them into a simple diagram????

A long shot I know but you never know...

It is possible, to some extent, with Photoshop using sketch filters (e.g. charcoal, graphic pen, stamp, photocopy, etc) but you'll have to experiment and play around with it a bit. Have you got any examples?

Adobe Illustrator using Live Trace will do it, or the older Adobe Streamline. Turns photos into vectors which you can then edit as you wish
