Hi - I'm new to P.Heads but am trying to gather as much info as possible before taking the plunge into TVR ownership. It's all pretty much new to me but have always wanted to own a TVR and it will probably be a Chimeara. A good mate of mine, Burriana, suggested I get myself on here and start talking and meeting up with some of the local guys,if there are any around here? He has helped fuel my passion to own a TVR after listening to the V8 symphony from his Griff 500 a few years ago!

I currently drive a company BMW so nothing too exciting. I hope this won't be a barrier to me coming along to say hello and have a look at some owner's TVRs.

I notice that some guys are going to the David Gerald Open Day in Inkberrow tomorrow which is just down the road for me.

Any advice greatfully received and I hope to meet some of you soon.

Fortuitous timing ... were I you, I'd get along to that meet at David Gerald if at all possible. The owners will be happy to talk to you about their cars until you're popping pro-plus and, albeit based on my experience quite a while ago now, the staff at DG are real enthusiasts too. I turned up there in a C reg VW Polo and said "I'm very vaguely thinking about getting an S, but I don't know anything about them" and they were happy to take me on a tour of the car's mechanicals, point out strengths and weaknesses, take me out for a test drive, etc., etc

Hi Steve, thanks for the post but will probably go to the DG Open Day for my 'first' introduction to the TVR world and as I'm in Evesham it's handy. Might take you up on any future runs though.

wavey Welcome Ron!

We're probably not too far from you, and Al's a mate too, so it would be great to meet up sometime. I know that the Midlands TVRCC is pretty lively - have a look at Flip Flop Griff's profile (or Mrs FFG) because they're quite active. I'll drop them a line and tip them off.

Common Road at the mo, in one of the new flats on the left as you head towards the football pitch..

Might be tempted to join you in the run up to DG's tomorrow.. not in the market, but it's always nice to have a look
