A chap at work has just told me about an article he saw in the Sunday Times magazine. Apparently it is a chap who creates a coffee-table type book of any photos that you send him. He wasn't absolutely sure about the name though and a quick google hasn't turned anything up.
Does anyone know anything about this as it sounds pretty interesting

Shame really... we (the missus and I) were thinking of getting one following our holiday.
Anyone know a sensibly priced alternative? (I mean circa £20-30, not £80)

Apple Photo Books? If you know anyone who uses a mac, iPhoto has configurable photo albums that look pretty cool. You pick the pictures you want, then the software organises them into a book quite cleverly and then you make any fine adjustments.

I'd be interested to know what it looks like if you do one... let us know!

Funnily enough, a client mentioned Bobbooks today. Looking at the samples it looks a little limited in what you can do in the way of layout, I can't try the software as it isn't yet available for mac (even though they show a mac in the little flash movie
).
However, I have ordered a book from from iPhoto for a goddaughter's party about 18 months ago, just happy snaps, and have to say I was amazed at how easy and fast it was (delivered within the week IIRC). I would have preferred thicker paper, it was magazine quality, but maybe they have up that now. No complaints with the quality of the printing, binding or colour.
I had a clothbound hardback version but I believe they do softback as well as calendars now. The templates are very nice, clean design, starting points and it's a breeze to customise the pages. Only a problem for PC users as mac only. Some Idea of samples and prices here
