I saw a comment the other day that the Ferrari 308 v8 engine was designed in two weeks by the same person that designed the Fiat Twin cam and that asa result the 308 enigne is, essentially, two twin-cams sharing the sae crankshaft. Is this true and are any of the parts interchangable? Just seems like with only two weeks to design, there would have to be alot in common. Also, the saved manufacturing costs if they could share parts.

Yea, it didn't seem right, otherwise it would be the holy grail of auto reapirs. Still, probably close enough to get experience working on them at a low cost.
