Firstly... this judging lark aint easy..

Secondly.. sorry I'm late.. the drag strip was tiring this weekend!

And onto the the business at hand..

Some really nice photo's guys, I guess it's difficult to judge as the brief was so... brief.. but, even so, some very nice images..

Honorable mentions
Mrs Fish : Love the Atoms..
Doodah : The colouration of the Exige pulls me back to that image over and over again
Pupp : You made this hard for me.. I really like that image..

The Winner

CVP with this ..

Seemed to sum up everything I was thinking about extraordinary..

Thanks guys... it's been a fun month... Well done CVP..

Its a pity that not everyone entered into the official thread, there were some nice pics in the main thread.

Maybe with the thread not being stickied it may have slipped people's mind?

Well done to the winning picture.

Yeah, what is it?

Cheers guys, I'm flattered.

The image is the window between the central light well and the dining troom in Casa Batllo in Barcelona. Shot with a llittle Canon IXUS point and shoot. We were going round the house and I looked the other way from a lot of folks who were photographing up the lightwell and saw this image. I really liked the way the people in the far room came through as shadows on the frosted glass.

Casa Batllo was renovated under the direction of Gaudi and it's got some amazing features / designs in it. Was he a genius or was he mad? I think he was probably a bit of both and that was both his curse and his gift.

I'll have a think of an October topic and post it tomorrow.

Cheers

Chris

Having just got my DSLR and having been long time listener/first time caller, I'd like to start entering the competition if I may?

How does it work; the winner of the month chooses the category, then you have a "competition thread" whereby you can post different photos, discuss, and choose.....then 1 week before end of month you have an "official thread", where you simply post your one submission.

Then the winner of previous month chooses the new winner....

....have I understood it right? Do pics have to be taken specifically for the competition of can they be anything you've ever taken?

Sorry for new boy questions!

I think you understand all the aspects correctly, there isnt much to it, and yes of course you can take part

re: pics being taken specifically for the competition, this isnt set in stone and is up to the person who starts the competition. I prefer not to have time constraints as Ive only had my camera 4-5 months, dont have hundreds of gigs of photos to choose from, and dont like limitations either.

Sooper dooper, thanks

Actually, I don't know why I asked the question; having had my DSLR a grand total of 2 weeks, anything I submit will have been specifically taken for it hehe

Thanks guys, I look forward to joining in!

The moment I saw that I knew it was Casa Battlo. I've got some of my own pics, but that one is superb.

Trivia: owned by the sae family that owns (and founded) Chupa Chups.
