Hi Guys

It may be time for me to part with my pride and joy. The car is fantastic, the looks and speed of a GT2 but the 4 WD and traction control of a 996TT.

The car has had over £30,000 spent on modifications.

Any idea on the value?

• 996TT (02 plate, manufactured in 01)
• left hand drive
• 45,000 miles
• 540 bhp done by PSI –
www.psi-motorsport.com/porschetuning/e/reportages/porshe996-biturbo.php
• Carbon GT2 body kit
• PSI Sports Exhaust
• 355mm Front brake kit (steering knuckle, bearings, disks, brake pads, metal hoses, hoses, AP600 fluid)
• Just had 4 year service
• Brand new PSS9 suspension
• At V-MAX IX did 190mph

Any help would be great.

Cheers

DucatiGary

you wont want to hear this but I cant see you getting anything back for the mods.

and alot of people will steer clear becuase of them.

Im about to get my ass into gear and sell my bike, spent thousands on carbon, every single plastic part has been replaced with factory carbon, I am sure Ill only get the going rate for it though, as in without any extras so ill price it the same but mabe a little higher than the market equivelent.

MY2001 with 45k miles would be about 45-48k in rhd form depending in spec/colour so reckon you would struggle at that (I don't know what the LHD discount would be I would assume around 7/8k?)

£30k seems an extraordinary amount to spend on mods, can you not sell some separately? - the GT2 body would be desirable, sports exhaust and suspension should go for something if you still have the stock items.. Can you sell the engine mods and put it back to std, where presumably most of the £30k went?

Thankfully I did not spend 30k on the mods, the previous owner took the hit.
May be 40k is more realistic ? That seems a lot of car for that sort of money.
Someone is going to get a bargin !
The other option will be to keep it.
Decisions, decisions....

I think the mods will put a lot of people off, but there's probably someone out there who's looking for something like this.

Suppose it comes down to how quickly you want to sell, you're appealing to a smaller market.

If I was looking for a Turbo I'd be interested. Doesn't help much does it?

If it was a RUF conversion, would it be more value than a non-RUF of equivalent model, mileage etc?

You'd be crazy to sell it for that.

What could you buy for that price that's better?

In terms of pound per horse power/performance there is nothing to beat it.

Looks like I may just have to keep it ,unless a decent offer comes along.

You have a point Gaz...

BUT Porsche 996 TT's are a narrow market to begin with - add to that someone who wants a modified one, and your talking a very narrow market.

Perhaps you should have a chat with kayc, as long as you promise to spread, or not spread I forget which he prefers... he might be interested..

not only modded but LHD, I reckon it would sell for as much if reverted to stock and sell much quicker too

I fully agree with you, I'm just saying there are people who would rather buy the modified car and trouser the cash it would have taken for them to do those mods,

must admit I've always thought people would rather buy stock and do the mods themseleves so they now exactly what was been done and have a relationship with modder should anything go wrong (unless it was by Ruf or similarly regarded company)
